Cloudflare’s privacy-focussed DNS serviceGlobal network service provider Cloudflare has announced a new privacy-focused DNS service to take on Google’s alternate DNS provider. Cloudflare’s main claim to fame is their focus on privacy – they promise to never write your DNS request to disk and not to keep logs for more than 24 hours. They also support DNS over http (and  DNS-over-TLS), which means even your ISP will not know which domain name you are requesting. Cloudflare’s other advantage is speed, with responses on the order of 14 ms for sites outside their network, and even faster for the large segment of the web on their service. The service is completely free, and Cloudflare promises to never use the data for marketing and other uses. To guarantee this they are having KPMG, the well-respected auditing firm, audit their code and practices annually and publish a public report confirming they are doing what they said they would. The service is live now – to enable it for your public ISP on Windows 10. Fell set up instructions are posted on OUR FORUM.

microsoftMicrosoft is pushing towards becoming the world’s first $1 trillion company beating Apple. If the company’s growth figures in the cloud business are anything to go by, then we might find Microsoft achieving the One Trillion Dollar mark soon. It is expected that Microsoft’s cloud business will be double in the upcoming two to three years which would lead the Redmond Giant to the 1 Trillion mark for which Apple and Amazon are already competing. According to reports, Microsoft’s Public Cloud adoption is expected to grow from the current 21% to 44% in the coming three years which would let Microsoft maintain its dominant position in the cloud market. Currently, Morgan Stanley has increased the price target of Microsoft shares to $130 price tag which would eventually take the Redmond Giant to the $1 trillion mark. Microsoft as a company holds a market value of $709 billion and is only fourth to Alphabet in third place with $721 billion, Amazon in second place with $738 billion behind the leader Apple which is currently valued at $854 billion. Windows 10 version 1709Microsoft is currently working on releasing its next major update to all Windows 10 users in April, Redstone 4 aka Spring Creators Update. The company would be glad and happy to hear a report which confirms that Microsoft latest Windows 10 operating system Fall Creators Update is running on 90.4% PCs worldwide. The 90.4% PCs worldwide are currently running the company’s Windows 10 version 1709 on their PCs and should well be gearing up to download Microsoft’s next major update, Spring Creators Update due in April. The 90.4% percentage of PCs running the latest version of the Operating system would mean that 9 PCs out of 10 have downloaded the latest version 1709 on their PCs and are up to date with all the new features and security updates which the Redmond Giant releases from time to time. This could be good news for Microsoft since it has been working on providing Windows as a Service since the company discontinues support for the older version of the operating system after the release of any new update in the market. As per reports, Anniversary update, which is going to be retired next month is running on 3.6% of the computers while the company’s other version, Windows 10 Creators Update has been adopted by 4.3% of users worldwide. Windows 10 Springs Creators UpdateMicrosoft has completed the development of Windows 10 Spring Creators Update and it seems that the update is finally ready for the general public. A new report today claimed that the Redstone 4 has reached the RTM milestone, and it appears that the update could be released on April 10. If the new report is believed to be true, Windows 10 Spring Creators Update release date could be April 10. The launch would again take place in stages, a few users in the production ring could receive Windows 10 Spring Creators Update on April 10. Microsoft needs up to two months to complete the rollout of the Spring Creators Update. The rollout also depends on the region and as well as the reported bugs. The release date of Windows 10 Spring Creators Update is however still uncertain but it’s likely that the update will be available by mid of April. Without an official announcement, it’s really not possible to predict the release date. Windows 10 Spring Creators Update is a version packed with many new features and improvements. A lot of new changes might be bit buggy on some hardware, so the software giant prefers to roll out updates in stages.

Review: Gunmetal Razer Blade Stealth PDF Print E-mail

Gunmetal Razer Blade StealthSince its inception, Razer has been known for its incredible gaming hardware. Not only that, but the attention to detail the company gives to every product rivals Apple and Microsoft. If you look at any accessory, even the Xbox One controllers, the build quality is phenomenal and even surpasses Microsoft’s entry-level accessories. Razer’s gaming laptops are on another level though. The metal is smooth and feels sturdy to the touch. The green logo stands out beautifully in a dimly-lit room. The keyboard changes color in a seamless way which mesmerizes the user. Razer’s machines are a work of art. However, the company has had limited appeal in the past due to their fixation on gaming machines. With the Razer Blade Stealth though, that stereotype has been shattered because this is the perfect device for any mobile professional. The laptop is made out of aluminum and feels smooth to the touch. If you’ve ever felt Apple devices, you’ll know that the company prefers a rougher finish which is prone to scratches and other issues. Well, you’ll be happy to know that the Razer Blade Stealth’s smooth finish also gives it a somewhat scratch-resistant property. We wouldn’t advise putting your keys in the same bag as the Razer Blade Stealth, but you don’t need to constantly worry about putting it in a case as accidentally hitting it against the corner of your table will give it a noticeable gash. Unlike Apple’s laptops, this device won’t scratch unless you purposely take a sharp metal object to it. This is a surprising blessing for people who hardly have the time to constantly protect their devices. Continue the review on OUR FORUM.

windows defenderWriting on their blog, Brad Anderson, Corporate Vice President, Enterprise Mobility + Security at Microsoft revealed that Microsoft ‘s Windows Defender antivirus solutions have been rapidly taking market share in the enterprise, and when it comes to protecting Windows 10 solutions, currently has more than 50% market share in companies both big and small. According to Microsoft’s own numbers, 18% of Windows 7 and Windows 8 devices are using Defender and over 50% of Windows 10 devices are using this built-in solution. Microsoft in part attributes this to a great improvement in the efficacy of Windows Defender, noting a complete rewrite in 2015 has seen the solution become near perfect at blocking infections, both in industry benchmarks and in the wild.Efficacy is of course not the only reason to use Windows Defender, as many other companies perform equally well when blocking malware. Anderson lists the following reasons Windows Defender is dominating on Windows 10. Full details are posted on OUR FORUM.
