The Office desktop apps are now available to download in Preview form from the Windows Store as part of Office 365 Personal to all users of Windows 10 S: the OS that only runs apps downloaded from the Windows Store. Following the broad availability of the Windows 10 S ISO, Microsoft has released the Preview version of Office 365 desktop apps in the Windows Store for users running Windows 10 S. These apps are full featured Office desktop versions being made available in the Store thanks to the Project Centennial Win32 app bridge. The flavor currently being offered for Preview is Office 365 Personal and it includes the latest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access and Publisher, with OneNote being offered as an UWP app. The Preview version comes with the following features —
For 1 PC or Mac, 1 tablet including iPad, Android or Windows, plus 1 phone.
Fully installed versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and more.
1TB of storage space on the cloud.
Continuous access to updates.
60 Skype minutes of calling per month to mobile phones and landlines.
Users of the Windows Store version of Office 365 need to take into account that the Store currently offers only the 32-bit version of Office and does not allow the use of COM add-ins. Also, OneNote will be offered as an UWP app instead of the OneNote 2016 desktop version.
The Store listing for downloading Office 365 Personal can be accessed from here (http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/store/d/office-365-personal/cfq7ttc0k5bf/007R?tduid=(2d43ce65065cbaf2e5e9b4847910fb55)(193031)(2439208)()()&rtc=1). An Office 365 subscription is needed to use Office 365 downloaded from the Windows Store.
