When you think of a medium for creating art Microsoft’s productivity suite does not exactly spring to mind, but for Japanese retiree  Tatsuo Horiuchi it was just the challenge he needed.

The 74-year-old from Nagano Prefecture thought the application was the perfect medium for him to hone his craft, with the aim of delivering something he would be proud to display within 10 years.
