Title: MWC 2018: Intel shows off 5G enabled 2-in-1 laptops

Intel has shown off a new 2-in-1 at MWC in Barcelona which has a 5G modem for better speeds. If you remember recently, Qualcomm announced their new 5G modem and was working with OEM partners to implement 5G in mobile devices.

While 5G is still not mainstream and there are very few network providers actually working on the spectrum, Intel seems to have decided to experiment with designs and the location of the 5G modem. Not only that, Intel decided to showcase the device during MWC. You can check out the hands-on video by Engadget.

As you can see in the video, the design is not final yet and it is just a prototype with modems on the kickstand. Engadget also pointed out that the device was capable of transmitting data at 5 GBps but it had no interference as no one is currently using the 5G bandwidth.

The device is still in prototype and so is the 5G network but we do hope to see it in action sometime in 2019. For now, you and I have to settle for LTE network and hope that 5G rolls out soon.
