The debut of Windows 10 May 2019 Update marks the launch of exciting features like Sandbox and nifty performance improvements. In late May 2019, Microsoft released the Windows 10 feature update to a limited number of devices and after determining the feedback, the software giant is finally pushing the update to more users.

Today, Microsoft quietly updated the support document (http://docs.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-1903) with a new note to announce wider availability of May 2019 Update. Microsoft is still not forcing the update and the system will install it only when the user manually checks for updates.

“Windows 10, version 1903 is available for any user who manually selects “Check for updates” via Windows Update,” Microsoft explains.

It is always possible that the update still won’t show up when you manually check for it. This could happen when the system has incompatible drivers or apps installed. In this case, you should update all your apps, drivers and check for updates again. You can also update the system via Update Assistant (http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10), Media Creation Tool (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209) or the ISO files (http://www.windows10newsinfo.com/smf/index.php/topic,36751.0.html).

Known issues

Windows 10 May 2019 Update has some known issues and Microsoft is blocking the update from showing up on incompatible hardware.

At the moment, Microsoft is aware of the following known issues:

• Windows Sandbox may fail to start with error code “0x80070002”

• Loss of functionality in Dynabook Smartphone Link app

• Display brightness may not respond to adjustments

• Audio not working with Dolby Atmos headphones and home theater

All the aforementioned problems are being investigated. Microsoft may address some of these known issues with the June 2019 cumulative update.
