Title: IFA 2019: LG’s updated G8X ThinQ Dual-Screen smartphone shown off

LG has shown off the second generation of their G8X ThinQ Dual-Screen smartphone at IFA 2019.

The device combines a regular high-end smartphone (3.5mm headphone jack included) with a rather rugged case accessory which includes a 6.4-inch secondary screen which allows users to run applications and view content just like if they had a rather fancier flexible screen device.

The LG G8X ThinkQ is powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor, has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, 12 megapixel regular and 13-megapixel wide-angle cameras and a 32-megapixel selfie camera. It also has an in-display fingerprint reader and 4000 mAh battery but is only 8.4mm thick.

The case adds another 14.9mm thickness and 134 g weight, so it clearly not for the faint-hearted. The case also features a 2.1 inch OLED screen just for notifications and time.

See Engadget’s hands-on video of the device, recorded at IFA 2019 below:
