Due to the debate over whether this is the real final RTM (the minor build number is still subject to change), I've got some good news. Select partners will be receiving the final RTM on July 24th, and hopefully a legit way of activation. Pray for a leak.

i,m running 7600 x64 now there are no water marks so this could well be the rtm or very close to the rtm

It's extremely close, but there's always the chance that they change something at the last minute, and leave the major build number as-is. With Vista they changed the minor build string 3 times while still keeping it as the same major build number.

It is more than likely close to RTM (Fini) but it is not.

Rumours are getting stronger that this is not the actual final RTM. There are some missing things that there were supposed to be there like the automatic get started windows, or the "welcome to windows" message. However I have something clear in my mind, minor changes between this and the final RTM. I am not going to install this, although I already have it, and I will wait until 24th July.

If anything the core product is finished, next comes the cleaning up and polishing for the OBE stuff. Supposedly the official announcement is being made tomorrow at the WPC.

I believe this is not the final RTM, the reason is that once you install the activator, the water mark appears and the most conclusive thing is that RTM's haven't expiration date as this does.

Hi, I've made an upgrade from version 7264 straight and previously from RC1 7100 (in this case I'd to do the following)

1. Download the ISO as you did previously and burn the ISO to a DVD.
2. Copy the whole image to a storage location you wish to run the upgrade from (a bootable flash drive or a directory on any partition on the machine running the pre-release build).
3. Browse to the sources directory.
4. Open the file cversion.ini in a text editor like Notepad.
5. Modify the MinClient build number to a value lower than the down-level build. (For example, change 7100 to 7000)
6. Save the file in place with the same name.

# Run setup like you would normally from this modified copy of the image and the version check will be bypassed ok!

I've just installed the 7600 16384 x64 and it is running fine (not enough time see any bugs yet).

It is interesting that the water mark was not there.

HOWEVER, THIS VERSION CANNOT BE ACTIVATED WITH RC PRODUCT CODE like the last version.

After using the older version "two files" trick, it was activated. THE WATER MARK COMES BACK!!!

Windows 7
Evaluation copy. Build 7600

I hope someone is listening. There is more to the two files which control the software security protections.

Maybe it's just a fluke but my copy of 7600 never asked for the key?

I'm not sure if it has the genuine advantage mark, but I'll check later when I reboot into that partition.

Another 7600 x64 activated user here. Replaced the token, etc files and used RC key to activate worked just fine. Make sure to open where you enter your cd key while disabling and re enabling the software security service. I didn't on first install and couldn't get back to the cdkey entry screen. Just said it was unavailable.

I have a watermark, but it's all activated properly using a RC key. Looking like a great build =D

I clean installed from using RC build 7127 for ages. Even better than that, and that was an AWESOME build =D
