Fourteen Security Bulletins for Microsoft's 'Patch Tuesday'
« on: December 09, 2011, 02:46:25 AM »
Microsoft said Thursday that system administrators would have fourteen security bulletins to manage next Tuesday, three of which are critical.

Moreover, Adobe plans its own out-of-band release to address a current 0-day vulnerability .

All three of the critical vulnerabilities address issues within Windows, including Windows XP. Only one critical vulnerability affects Windows 7,with one of the three critical vulnerabilities characterized as "important" where Windows 7 is concerned. In total, nine of the vulnerabilities involve Windows, with five concerning Microsoft Office.

Five of the "important" bulletins affect Office 2003, 2007 and 2010 including all office versions for Macintosh as well, Qualys noted in a blog post. One of the remaining bulletins addresses Internet Explorer 6 through 9 and the remaining bulletins apply to all versions of Windows.

Microsoft won't reveal the exact nature of the vulnerabilities until the patch is released.
