Windows Store is a place where Windows 8 users can browse, purchase and download Metro-style apps. Users who already own a Windows Phone, Apple iDevices, or Android devices probably know how an app store works.

Users need to login with a Microsoft account to download and install apps. Though the primary goal of Windows Store is to provide access to Metro-style apps, some legacy applications can also be found here.

The Windows Store is divided into following categories:

# Spotlight

# Games

# Social

# Entertainment

# Photos

# Music & Videos

# Books & References

# News & Weather

# Food and dining

# Shopping

# Travel

# Finance

# Productivity

# Tools

# Security

An app purchased through Windows Store can be installed up to five Windows PCs or tablets. At present, only very few apps are available on Windows Store but will receive more apps in coming months.
