CES 2013: LG Preparing 7 inch Tablet and 5.5 inch 1080p Phablet
« on: December 30, 2012, 04:56:38 PM »

LG will bring out the big guns at CES 2013, showcasing a bunch of new and interesting devices, such as a brand new phablet with a 5.5 inch diagonal and a 7 inch tablet, too. They will also bring a new 4.7 handset, 84 inch TV sets and more. The 4.7 inch handset has a very thin bezel, of just 1 mm and the rest of devices are detailed below.

The new 5.5 inch Full HD phablet features 403 ppi pixel density and we no exact details on its specs, although quad core CPU and 2 GB of RAM are a pretty sure thing. The new 7 inch tablet will have a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, with a 324 pixel density, higher than both the Nexus 7 and iPad. LG will also bring to CES a 12.9 inch QSXGA display, with a resolution of 2560 x 1700 pixels and that one will be meant for ultrabooks. It even surpasses the one of the MacBook Pro, with a 13.3 inch 2560 x 1600 achievement.

The new screen uses AH-IPS technology, just like the phablet mentioned before and the 7 inch tablet. We will also see some high resolution monitors for PCs, with huge resolutions and diagonals, but our focus remains on the tablets, smartphones and phablets. It remains to be seen if LG’s 5.5 inch device will counter the Galaxy Note II or pre-empt the Note III…
