Sony has just announced the Instant Game Collection for PS Plus members this August. Each platform is getting two free games, as per usual, and they range from semi-new to brand new and AAA to completely indie.

We’ll start with the PlayStation 4 and its double feature of indie titles. Fez, you know that one, is the world rotating indie puzzle adventure game from Polytron that won a ton of critical acclaim. Nabbing Fez on the PlayStation 4 for free will get you a PS Vita copy. There’s also Road Not Taken, a game that will launch as a member of the Instant Game Collection. This one is also an indie puzzler. Here’s how developer Spry Fox describes the effort.

Quote
You play as a ranger adventuring through a vast, unforgiving forest in the aftermath of a brutal winter storm, rescuing children who have lost their way. Procedurally-generated levels deliver a limitless supply of possibilities to explore and challenges to overcome. Your actions will influence not only your own story, but that of the villagers you hope to befriend and the town you callhome

The PlayStation 3 will see Crysis 3 and Proteus. Of course, you know Crysis. Proteus is an exploration game with an odd spin on music and randomly generated encounters. It’s trippy, and it’ll also Cross-Buy with the PS Vita version when you pick it up.

Finally, the PS Vita sees two interesting games as well. Dragon’s Crown, a 2D action RPG with a heavy emphasis on art is part of the pack. You might remember that game for all the controversy its female character designs spurred up. There’s also Metrico, a game our own Eric Frederiksen wishes he had a PS Vita for. It’s a puzzle-platformer that makes use of, brace yourselves, infographics.
