Further proof that in the right hands, ISOs are powerful things. Microsoft plans to make upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 10 a possibility, allowing these users to easily deploy the new OS.
Comes in handy when trying to upgrade as many old computers as possible.
The company, as you may well be aware, rolled out a dedicated tool to allow users running Windows 7 and Windows 8 to move to the Windows 10 Technical Preview build. A similar solution is also expected to be offered by the time the final retail version of the operating system sees daylight.
Windows XP computers do not have access to this means to rapidly switch to Windows 10 Technical Preview, but in the words of Gabe Aul, it should be possible with the help of ISO files.

The big question still remains whether these Windows XP machines have the required hardware configurations to run Windows 10. The modern operating system is not too demanding when it comes to performance requirements, but then again, XP is an ancient, ancient platform.
Back then the recommend hardware for the now-retired OS started with a 300MHz Pentium processor, some 128MB of RAM and at least 1.5GB of available hard disk space.
The minimum requirements were even lower.
Surely, many of the PCs that are still running Windows XP have better hardware specifications than the ones listed above, but the point remains, just how many of these computers make the cut when it comes to Windows 10 system requirements.
Those that do will, at least, be able to upgrade via a streamlined process.
Instead of the relatively trickier ESD (Electronic Software Download) upgrade route.
