Beginning in January 2016, Microsoft will end its support for older versions of Internet Explorer and instead focus on support for Internet Explorer 11. Always looking ahead, Microsoft will work to improve Internet Explorer 11 with more updated security features, better backwards compatibility, and a better overall browser experience.

After January 12, 2016, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or technical support for older Internet Explorer versions. According to Microsoft, Internet Explorer 11 will be the last version of Internet Explorer as Microsoft shifts its focus on its next web browser, Microsoft Edge.

“Internet Explorer 11 is the last version is Internet Explorer will continue to receive security updates, compatibility fixes, and technical support on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.”

Since Internet Explorer just celebrated its 20th birthday, it may be time for Microsoft to focus its attention to Edge. Be warned: If you are still using an older version of Internet Explorer, you will be at risk for security vulnerabilities like malware and other malicious attacks exposing your personal data. In order to keep your personal info and files, safe and secure, stay up-to-date with Internet Explorer 11.
