Unlike Google, you can now search for emoji characters on Bing
« on: October 28, 2014, 01:27:07 PM »
Ever tried searching for emoji characters on Google? Don’t bother as it won’t work. But if you try the same on Bing, not only will the Microsoft’s search engine recognize it, it will also understand different combinations with it: emoji + emoji, as well as emoji + word. Plus, it works on Web as well as mobile.

The company announced today that it has added support for emoji on Bing. What started as a Japanese electronic messages, emoji has come a long way to become part of everyone’s life. If you're still having issues understanding some of them, it’s a great opportunity for you to look on Bing to learn what different emoji characters mean. You might as well end up finding a new meaning after putting a string of characters together.

It’s rather an achievement of sorts, as Google doesn’t even understand any emoji character, let alone what their combination would possibly mean. As far as I can remember, this is the second time Bing had beat Google on adding a cool feature. It was also first in adding the Bitcoin current conversion support first.
