Last week, we reported that Microsoft could release the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update for non-carrier lock devices today, August 9th, but it seems that isn’t going to happen. Head of the Windows Insider program Dona Sarkar has just shared the news on Twitter:

As a reminder, Microsoft started to roll out the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 PCs a week ago, and both the Xbox One and the HoloLens have also received the new bits. While Windows Insiders on supported phones can already get the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update by downloading the latest Insider build 14493.5, Microsoft still thinks that this build is not good enough for the public and Sarkar did not reveal what remains to be fixed on the mobile OS.

As today is also “Patch Tuesday”, we will also have to wait a few more hours to see if the company releases a cumulative update for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on Windows PCs and also a last cumulative update for Windows 10 phones on the current branch. Let us know in the comments if you think Microsoft is right to add more polish to the Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary Update before the public release.
