Microsoft HoloLens promises to be one of the most innovative devices of the decade, and when you mix it with a sheer phenomenon like Pokémon Go, then awesomeness ensues.

In fact, pairing the device with the hit sensational game was exactly what CEO Satya Nadella was talking about recently, explaining how alternate reality or mixed reality is the way of the future.

So it just makes sense that a group of HoloLens developers tried their hands with this, and created a concept that shows how a game like this could come to the Windows Holographic device — provided developer Niantic and Nintendo show interest.

As stated by David Robustelli, Head of Digital at CapitolaVR, the company behind this demo:

Quote
“We were actually amazed how easy it is to launch an app for this device and create and optimize the mechanics and interaction. The build was created in Unity with the HoloLens SDK.”

And here is the video to go with it:

Rather impressive!

Of course, this is by no means a confirmation that Pokémon Go might arrive on HoloLens, as it appears to be forbidden fruit for Windows users.

Even if the company has hinted that it might do something with HoloLens.

Might, because right now, a version like this would only be aimed at a very limited user base. The $3,500 or so cost of the developer edition of HoloLens means that even if Niantic decides to expand from their Android and iOS focus, it will take a fair while.
