Opera Portable Installer released
« on: September 11, 2016, 09:39:09 PM »

Opera Software released version 41 of Opera to the Developer channel and along with it, the Opera Portable Installer. The tool will improve the process of installing portable versions of the browser application.

Let’s not forget that the Opera Portable Installer was available before but for some reason, the process was hidden in options. Back then, you had to click on the option button when the first page of the installer opened and change the install path to any other path you wanted. At the same time, you had to switch the install variable from “all users on this computer” to “stand-alone installation (USB).

Opera Portable Installer

First of all, Opera will be automatically installed as a portable browser, which means that you will not have to change the variable we’ve told you above. At the same time, the new Opera Portable Installer will detect your USB storage device automatically and the installer will just adjust the installation path. In other words, you will not have to pick a custom path for the installation as the installer will pick it for you.

TIP: Keep in mind that if you don’t want to install it on your USB driver, you might want to change the installation path.

All the other options found on the Opera Portable Installer are the same as the options the old “hidden” Opera portable installer had. In other words, you will have the ability to change the language of the browser, disable the importing of data from the default browser etc. and share usage data.

TIP: The Opera Portable Installer is currently available only for the Developer edition of Opera.
