Adobe XD Arrives On The Windows Store In Private Beta
« on: December 01, 2016, 03:55:37 AM »
Adobe XD is a rather interesting application from the popular software maker. It is the first full Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app made using UWP, and for that reason' it carries appropriate hype.

On top of that, this is a solution intended for developers — web and software — so there’s that.

Back in September, the company announced its plans to bring its XD application, also known as Experience Design CC to Windows 10 as a UWP app. Previously, this was exclusive to MacOS, but it has now arrived for Windows users.

As a private beta.

The original intention, you may recall, was to have this Universal Windows Platform app out in the open by the end of 2016. At least, that is what Adobe said when originally announcing the application.

However, with that deadline only a month away, it is possible that we are looking at a launch next year.

For now, we do know that only a select few have gained access (opens an Italian site) to the private beta, which is more private than you think actually. Adobe intends to select just 50 new users every month, which again hints that the official release may be a little while off.

Of course, that does not make for a very large beta program, but you get what you get.

Speaking of which, Adobe says that Adobe XD is a solution that is designed for fast and efficient activity of UX design with innovative tools that deliver exceptional performance for any project, from simple wireframe to multi-screen experiences.

The app offers several intuitive capabilities like dedicated design tools, interactive prototypes, the ability to share and collaborate with ease, and more new options are planned for the future.

That said, the user interface of the app certainly looks like a step down from the MacOS release, which is hopefully something that Adobe works on in the following months.

It is, after all, a marquee application for the company.

And by that extension, the Universal Windows Platform, too.
