The Legion arrives! Along with the slew of laptops, tablets and hybrids that Lenovo has unveiled as part of its CES 2017 announcements, the company is also displaying two new gaming notebooks.

These are from its new gaming laptops series, called Legion.

Before we get to the details, you might want to take a look at the Surface clone and new ThinkPad X1 machines here and here respectively.

Getting back to these sleek gaming notebooks, though, you may be aware that Lenovo has previously partnered with Razer when it comes to gaming gear. But the Chinese hardware giant is now ready to launch its own gaming line up that is fitting for the world’s number one PC maker.

This is what Lenovo said when explaining the launch of this new brand:

Quote
“Just as the Roman army shared a common purpose that bound them together as a force to be reckoned with, Lenovo Legion is all about our growing community of gamers and their passion for gaming.”
The company is also showing off two different Legion laptops at CES, both of which will go on sale later this year. One of these is the more affordable $899 machine, while the other, a fair bit more premium, and will retail at $1,399.

The entry level gaming machine is the Y520, which will go on sale next month. This 15.6-inch laptop features an IPS LCD display, and is powered by the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti GPU.

Those who want better performance can opt for the Y720, which packs in a GeForce GTX 1060, as well as an optional 4K screen, and will become available in April. Storage and processor options on both devices vary, but there are choices for up to 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD or 2TB HDD.

As well as up to Intel Core i7-7700 HQ processors.

The two laptops also offer backlit keyboards, as well as built-in Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound support, along with an integrated Xbox One wireless receiver for quick controller connections.
