A reasonable wait, don’t you think? Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update may not be high on new features for the mobile operating system, but at least it’s coming out soon enough.
Microsoft has maintained for quite some time that phone users will get the Creators Update after the rollout is initiated for PC users, but not specific date was offered.
Until now.
The software titan, in a blog post, confirmed that the Windows 10 Mobile update is scheduled to arrive on April 25, though obviously, it's availability may vary by manufacturer, model, country or region, mobile operator or service provider.
On top of that specific installed software, hardware limitations and other factors like feedback from customers will also play into when a user gets the update notification.
In other words, it’s complicated!
Obviously, there usually are many conditions that go into whether or when a phone receives an update to the mobile operating system. But for the Creators Update, these conditions seem to have been amplified quite a bit.
The rollout will, nevertheless, take several months to complete, so you may have a wait in store for you before you get Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update on your phone.
Historically, phones that are locked to a carrier have had to wait an additional week or two before they got access to a Windows 10 Mobile update, but this is the first time that Redmond is citing hardware limitations.
What this means is that certain handsets that are officially eligible for Windows 10 Mobile may not receive a feature update due to hardware limitations.
Let’s hope the company manages to keep that list to a minimum!
