Xbox Live maintenance is very rare and many haven’t heard an announcement in years. Well, it looks like there’s one taking place on Thursday, April 27 between 4 AM EDT to 6 AM EDT. While it’s only a few hours, it’s still a rather surprising event.
According to Xbox’s Larry Hryb, Microsoft we will be performing scheduled maintenance that will affect Xbox 360 titles and services. How does that affect Xbox One owners though? Well, this maintenance will also impact Xbox 360 backward compatible titles on the console.

The good news is that all other Xbox One titles and services will not be affected. If you’re playing an Xbox 360 title during the maintenance, you may be disconnected from Xbox Live one or more times. However, just restart your console and it should work. Even though the maintenance is taking place at an obscure hour—at least for users in the United States—it’s best to know so there aren’t any surprises.
