Wacom announced this week the expansion of the Cintiq Pro lineup of tablets, with two new models. These are clearly meant for professionals, illustrators, and graphic designers, who need a larger digital canvas.

The newcomers feature edge to edge glass screens with 24 inch and 32 inch diagonals. Current models went up to 13 and 16 inches, within the Cintiq Pro lineup. The newcomers have a 4K resolution and show one billion colors, as well as maximum color accuracy. The smaller units also offered 4K resolution, in case you were wondering. Those impressed by the Microsoft stylus with 4000 pressure levels should know that Wacom offers 8192 pressure sensitivity levels.

The 24-inch model goes for $2000 and $3300 is paid for the 32 inch tablet. The 13 inch goes for $1000 and the 16 inch $1500. We don’t have specs for these devices and all we have is the announcement and the promise of teasers for the next 6 months. These products will be available commercially in early 2018. I expect USB Type-C connectivity, customizable ExpressKeys, and Radial menus, as well as excellent Adobe RGB calibration.
