The Nokia 8 will be the first Nokia flagship since 2014
« on: July 18, 2017, 09:39:24 PM »

The Nokia 8 will be the Nokia brand’s first flagship phone since 2014’s Lumia 930. While the Windows phone was the phone company’s last flagship (As well as heralding the marriage of Nokia Devices and Services and Microsoft), the firm will be returning to the market with a new flagship, the Nokia 8, launching at the end of July.
While this strictly speaking isn’t Nokia but a phone made by a small start-up company with the rights to the Nokia name, elements of Nokia design still live on this flagship handset. The camera prowess of the Zeiss lens, the 2.5d glass on the screen, and the aesthetic of this just indicates that this is a Nokia phone. In terms of pricing and specs, this would come with a Snapdragon 835 processor, a 5.3-inch QHD display, and a pair of 13 megapixel rear cameras. It’ll set you back about $675 from current leaked pricing but will likely cost more or less once the actual pricing is released later this month.

While Microsoft Lumia toting fans might prefer this ran Windows phone, the result of the Windows phone misadventure almost destroyed the Nokia brand, and Microsoft’s current wishy-washiness with mobile inspires confidence in no one.
For users who embraced the Lumia line out of nostalgia for Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 8 will definitely be the closest thing to a classic Nokia flagship we’ll ever see in a post-Windows phone world.
