Up till now writing about Acer and HP’s Windows Mixed Reality headsets has been somewhat of a drag, as the nameless developer devices needed all 37 characters of “Windows Mixed Reality headset” each time they were referenced.

Thankfully it seems Lenovo is stepping up to fix this issue, filing the Lenovo Mirage trademark for their Mixed Reality headset.

The Mirage (only 6 characters!) is a device which can include:

Quote
Virtual reality headsets, augmented reality headsets, mixed reality headsets, virtual reality computer and gaming software, augmented reality computer and gaming software, mixed reality computer and gaming software, computer gaming equipment and accessories, video gaming equipment and accessories.

We still don’t know when the headset will hit the market, and unlike the Acer and HP devices, they have not been available in developer versions yet, making the trademark, filed on August 06, 2017, a welcome sign of progress.

The device is expected to cost little more than $300 and despite the lack of other obvious signs of progress,  should hit the market by the end of the year.
