Gamescom 2017: HP announces new OMEN X gaming Laptop

At Gamescom 2017, HP took the wraps off a new Windows 10 powered OMEN X Laptop. The laptop is being called the “most powerful gaming laptop to date” and is built for gaming enthusiasts and gaming professionals. It also is bringing perfect performance, support for virtual reality, unlocked CPUs, factory-overlocked GPUS, custom memory options, and more.

The OMEN X comes in two options, one with a 17-inch 4K display option for higher resolution gaming, and another with a 120Hz 1080p display for fast refresh rates and smooth visuals. The device also features a mechanical and RGB LED-per key backlit keyboard, independent, programmable macro keys, and, anti-ghosting functions.

Lastly, the OMEN X features simulated surround sound with any headset and premium sound featuring HP Dual Speakers with Audio by Bang & Olufsen. Other notable specs on the OMEN X can be seen below.

The OMEN X is also designed with ease of upgrade in mind. There is an access panel so users can replace RAM and other components of the laptop. You also can find a variety of ports, including three USB 3.0 Type A, two Thunderbolt 3-certified USB 3.1 Type C, HDMI 2.0a with HDR support, Mini DisplayPort, RJ45 and a multi-format media card reader.
