Razer users should avoid the Fall Creators Update
« on: October 24, 2017, 06:55:01 PM »
If you’re the owner of a Razer laptop, you may want to reconsider downloading the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update: there are a few new reports about the Windows 10 version 1709 causing significant issues on every Razer laptop. Here’s what you need to know:

The Fall Creators Update causes severe issues on Razer laptops

If the reports are accurate, the Fall Creators Update can cause all of your laptop peripherals to stop functioning after the machine wakes up from sleep.

If you take a look at the Razer forums, you’ll see that lots of users are discussing the issues. It seems that Razer has not updated compatibility with their drivers to support this latest version of Windows, rendering the trackpad, keyboard, and USB features useless when the system is waking up from sleep mode on battery power.

Unfortunately, reinstalling drivers or even contacting the Razer customer support will not be able to help you fix the issue. The only known fix for this nasty problem is to roll back to the Creators Update until Razer sorts things out.

Delay the update until Razer releases a solution

If you are the owner of a Razer laptop, the safest solution is to do nothing. Delay installing the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update at least for a little while longer until Razer is able to find a fix and eliminate all problems.

While the company hasn’t managed to fix the issue by now, the good news is that this kind of problem is fixed rather sooner than later, and hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long.
