A date bug in iOS 11 might crash your iPhone today
« on: December 02, 2017, 05:11:49 PM »
A bug has been discovered in the latest version of iOS 11 which will crash your device on 2nd December at 12:15 AM. The bug is related to third-party apps that use recurring local notifications like Alarms and Reminders.

Apple has recommended users to switch off notifications from the settings and also pushed an update to address the same. The update is currently rolling out to users but in case you don’t get it, go to settings and disable notifications as a temporary fix to the problem.

HOW TO DISABLE APP NOTIFICATIONS

Go to Settings > Notifications.

Tap on the app you want to disable.

Toggle off Allow Notifications.

Repeat for all the apps you want to disable.

Once you have done this, head back to settings and check for the latest update from Apple to fix the issue. Once you’re on iOS 11.2 turn notifications back on. If you’re unable to update, contact Apple support for help.

This issue is only pertaining to third-party apps that leverage local notifications API so if you don’t have any apps installed, you’re probably safe but we do recommend you to download the latest update as soon as possible.
