Full specs of GPD Win 2 micro-gaming laptop now available
« on: December 15, 2017, 06:08:49 PM »
The original GPD Win was a very well received mini PC, and now the follow-up device, the GPD Win 2 looks to be even more impressive, with significantly upgraded power.

The full specs of the device, which is expected to go on sale via crowd-funding in January 2018, has now been posted by GPD on their Reddit forum and includes numerous improvements which make the gaming device all the more desirable.

The specs include:

Quote

> Charging: PD 2.0, capable of charging the WIN 2 from zero to 50% in 30 minutes

> Cooling: Heatsink + Auto controlled fan (able to pump out hot air at 8 times the rate of the current WIN)

The GPD Win range is intended mainly for emulated games, and the  Core M3-7Y30 processor should mean even better performance and more ambitious emulators. A new fan which is 8 times better at moving heat and which is completely software controlled should also help, as would the new dual 2 x 4900mAh batteries should mean the device can keep up with the increased demands.

The last device had a very successful crowd-funding campaign, and this one will also be launched via crowdfunding, which will start on the 15th January 2018. If successful (which is highly likely) the device is expected to ship in April 2018. Unlike most companies, GPD has a pretty good track record of delivering on time.
