Apps Hub for Surface Phone/Mobile Andromeda device being curated already as Microsoft prepares the Eco-system

Microsoft may have finalized the design and other details of its upcoming ultimate mobile device Andromeda Surface Phone/Mobile revealed a new and recently granted Microsoft patent. It not only revealed elaborate 3D renders but also confirmed that it will come with OLED dual displays and modified USB type C port.

So, it seems natural that Microsoft may be working on other aspects of the eco-system to support this upcoming device. Microsoft enthusiast Walking Cat on Twitter has posted some evidence that shows that Microsoft is already working to curate Apps collections for the Surface Phone/Mobile.

A number 8828080 has appeared in many places in the source code of Windows builds. It not only appeared as a Windows version but also as a device family. The funny part is this number is part of Microsoft’s Phone number. So, seems Microsoft Engineers considered part of Microsoft’s Phone number to be the code for next Microsoft’s Phone device in a bit poetic manner.

So, Windows 8828080 is, in fact, Andromeda OS and also the code for Andromeda device which we love to refer to as Surface Phone/Mobile.

Now Walking Cat has been able to find a placeholder Apps collection that not only has 8828080 in the URL [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/apps/windows-8828080] but also in the source code.

The collections of apps on this page are meant for phones only. Here is the part of source code confirming that it is Apps hub for 8828080 and also meant exclusively for phones.

This may further raise hopes for the Surface Mobile device to hit the market in 2018 as Microsoft is preparing the eco-system to support it. We had exclusively reported that 2018 may see Surface Mobile (Surface Phone) & Windows mobile devices from top vendors too.
