Microsoft returns to battery life browser battle with new video

In a new video, Microsoft used the arrival of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update as an opportunity to praise the quality of Edge browser. The latest Fall Creators Update comes with lots of improvements, Microsoft Edge has been also updated with Fluent Design improvements and better battery management.

The video basically shows that Microsoft Edge is better than rivals Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome in terms of battery life. Microsoft recently performed a test on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update that shows Edge browser can last “63% longer than Mozilla Firefox and 19% longer than Google Chrome”.

“What happens when three identical devices run different browsers? The Microsoft Edge team wanted to find out. This experiment showed that battery life on a PC running Microsoft Edge lasts 63% longer than Mozilla Firefox and 19% longer than Google Chrome,“ says Microsoft.



Microsoft streamed one video in three different browsers on three identical devices (the unknown version of Surface Book) to find out the power-efficient browser. “Microsoft Edge streams video up to 63% longer than Mozilla Firefox and up to 19% longer than Google Chrome,” the company added.

This isn’t the first time when Microsoft performed browsers battery life tests, the company released a similar video that also compared Edge browser with rivals when Microsoft launched the Creators Update.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update improved Microsoft Edge with new a design and enhancements like improved favorites management and pinned sites, new PDF reader and more.
