Vivaldi web browser v1.14 update is now available for download and it comes with some new features such as vertical reader mode, Markdown support to Notes, rearrangeable Web Panels and more.

Vivaldi already has Reader View that works similar to Reading View feature on Edge.

But this new vertical reader mode is a unique feature targeting users of Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages as a vertical display is one of the default ways to view written text in these languages. Users can use this feature by selecting reading preference by heading to Web pages in Settings and click on vertical text direction.

Notes feature in Vivaldi browser allows users to take notes in the left-hand column while they research the Web, add a screenshot of the site they are browsing and even capture a selected area of text. With this update, they are improving Notes with support for Markdown. Markdown is an efficient way to apply formatting used by many sites including GitHub, Reddit Stack Exchange, and more.

With this update, users can now have the ability to customize the order of the Web Panels in the sidebar of their browser. And finally, they now allow users to change the order of their search engines. Users can drag-n-drop (or use the keyboard) to put search engines in the order they want.

Download the update here.
