Microsoft at its Ignite Conference last year confirmed that it will be launching Office 2019 in the second half of 2018. At that time the company did not provide many details about the new licensed version of Office 2019.

Today the company confirms that Office 2019 will eventually be made available in the second half of 2018 but will be working only on Microsoft’s latest version of Operating System Windows 10.

Office 2019 will not be made available for older versions of Windows since they will no longer be supported by Microsoft. The Redmond Giant also made it a point to update that the apps will be offered with Click to Run installation technology and will be downloaded as you run the installer.

The Office 2019 apps will include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Skype for Business. There will be no OneNote 2019 app which will be included since Microsoft is wanting users to put more emphasis on using the UWP OneNote app which is being offered with lots of features of late.

Microsoft also confirmed that the Office 2019 will not be supported for a period of 10 years but will receive a mainstream support for five years with an additional 2 years of extended support ending on 14th October 2025.
