Well, after a long hype of Apple’s legendary iPhone X, it was released and made available to consumers in November 2017. And now its January 2018, it has been almost 2-2.5 months since the launch now and a new report claims that iPhone X will be canceled. This report comes from a trusted source and hence we expect it to be canceled.

In the report, KGI Securities’ analyst Ming-Chi Kuo this main reason behind this cancellation of iPhone X is the disappointing sales. He claims that the production will be ceasing in the summer. This would be the second time that Apple will be discontinuing an iPhone after they discontinued the iPhone 5c series in 2014.

The main reasons for this discontinuation are the wastage of screen space because of the notch. The iPhone 8 Plus gives a wider field of interaction with the phone as compared to the more expensive iPhone X. Also, the bezel-less design of the iPhone makes it fragile and as the parts of the device are already expensive, the repairs make the cost unbearable too. Also, the new gestures that a user needs to learn in order to use the iPhone X make it really tough to use at times. There are people who claim (including Apple) that it is really easy to get used to these new gestures but let’s just accept the fact that it's not a cup of tea for everyone. Lastly, the absence of these fingerprint sensor makes the user totally dependent on the FaceID which is slower to use at it includes another step of swiping the screen to unlock the device which is not better than the traditional and more secure Touch ID.

But nevertheless, this new concept coming together with a single device is new and we appreciate Apple for trying this. Maybe the major concern was not the reason above but the only things: Price. The device is really expensive and with this experience, I think that they should get that the market needs a more affordable device whose maintenance costs also stay cheap.
