Last week, Microsoft released new cumulative updates for both Windows Phones and PCs with important bug fixes. For some unknown reasons, Microsoft delayed the release of cumulative updates for Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update and Anniversary Update devices.

The software giant is today rolling out build 15063.966 for Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update devices. This update also brings security improvements, as well as an eagerly-awaited bug fix.

If your Windows Phones such as Lumia 640 & 640 XL is stuck on version 1703 (Creators Update), the build 15063.966 is available for your device. It’s worth noting that the update is rolling out gradually, so the build 15063.966 might not show up immediately.

Windows 10 Mobile Build 15063.966 comes with bug fixes and improvements. The company has fixed an issue with Microsoft Edge where the browser could not render the PDF files. Apart from the aforementioned changes, Microsoft has also improved the overall performance of the operating system.

“Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Desktop Bridge, Microsoft Graphics component, Windows Kernel, Windows Shell, Windows MSXML, Windows Installer, and Windows Hyper-V,” the company said in a blog post.

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed whether or not there are any known issues in this update, though some users claim that the Windows 10 Mobile Build 15063.966 should offer flawless experience on supported phones.

Sooner or later, Windows 10 Mobile as we know it is going to be retired, but the operating system will continue to receive software updates with security fixes every month. Windows 10 Mobile is projected to reach the end of support by mid-2019.
