Windows 10 Build 17655 is now available for the Windows Insiders in the Skip Ahead Ring and it comes with a couple of new features. Microsoft is not making any major changes to the operating system with Build 17655 as the company is focusing on Windows 10 April Update slated to launch this month.

Microsoft says that the company is testing a brand-new Mobile Broadband (LTE) connectivity which is more reliable and based on a framework which offers accelerated data. “This framework introduces a new, more reliable, network driver model that inherits the goodness of the Windows driver framework while bringing an accelerated data path,” Microsoft explained in a blog post.

Microsoft is introducing a new and improved Mobile Broadband (MBB) USB class driver based on the aforementioned framework. It is, however, worth noting that your system must be compatible with Mobile Broadband in order to use an upgraded network connectivity.

Microsoft is fixing a couple of bugs with today’s Insider preview build. Microsoft is removing the brightness toggle from the Battery flyout on the taskbar. Microsoft Edge is also receiving a fix for an issue where moving the favourite folder in the favourites bar to another failed to work.

Known issues in Windows 10 Build 17655

Needless to say, the Insider builds come with at least one bug. Windows 10 Build 17655 has an issue where the mouse cursor may disappear when hovering over certain UI elements. The Movies & TV app could crash unexpectedly when the user navigates to the Personal Tab, and the company is also aware of an issue where the users won’t be able to configure the Windows Mixed Reality headset on this build.

Microsoft Edge also comes with an issue where the arrow and Page Up / Page Down keys doesn’t work. Last but not least, Microsoft is aware of an issue where Narrator reads extra text when invoking Alt + Tab.

Windows 10 Redstone 5 builds are currently exclusive to the Windows Insiders enrolled in the Skip Ahead ring. Microsoft has confirmed a while ago that it would allow Fast Ring Insiders to download the latest builds of Windows 10 Redstone 5 once the company releases the Redstone 4 update this month.
