If you’ve been keeping an eye on the smartphone segment, you may have noticed an uprising of the gaming smartphones. They’re on the up and up, but what’s up with the gaming tablets? Acer tried something with those a few years ago, but it didn’t pan out. Now Chuwi is hell bent on conquering the segment with an affordable gaming slate.

The back side feels like a mixture of a Lenovo Legion product, an ASUS ROG and an Acer model. Those thingies are most likely LED lights, which light up when you’re gaming or activating a special light pattern. The back side is inspired by classic racing cars. The product measures 8 mm in thickness, weighs 490 grams and it’s easy to grasp for a long while.

Chuwi HiPad packs a 10.1 inch Full display with an IPS OGS panel. Inside there’s a deca core Helio X27 processor and the Mali T880 GPU makes the games tick. There’s also 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a 7000 mAh battery in the mix. We also get a microSD card slot, USB Type-C port, dual band WiFi and Android 8.0 Oreo. The system has also been optimized for the top 50 most popular games on the Google Play Store.

The tablet is priced below $200 on GearBest and Aliexpress, so it’s clearly a solid budget pick for gamers. As long as it runs PUBG Mobile, Asphalt 9 and Darkness Rises, we’re set.
