Microsoft is working on several important improvements such as the Light Theme, new Settings page UI, brightness slider and more for Windows 10. All these changes alongside with other features will be shipped to consumers early next year.

In latest 19H1 preview builds, Microsoft has also introduced new Windows Security app improvements including the ability to set up Tamper Protection and Protection History.

Protection History in Windows Security app

Microsoft is updating the Protection History page in Windows Security app and it shows more than just information on the malware detected on your system. The app will still show you detections by Windows Defender Antivirus but you will notice that the page would display more detailed and easier to understand information about threats and available actions.

The app now offers a more straightforward approach that would allow you to get more information and you can also see pending recommendations in the history list. The recommendations should help users learn more about malware infection and how the computer can be better protected.

Tamper Protection

Tamper Protection setting is now also available inside the Windows Security app and it can be accessed under Windows Security > Virus & Threat Protection > Virus & Threat Protection Settings. If you turn on Tamper Protection feature, the system will provide additional protection against changes to key security features in order to keep your device safe from thieves and attackers.

Microsoft is currently testing new Windows Security app experience with Insiders and these changes will be released to the general public in the spring of 2019.
