Microsoft is no longer working on any features for Windows 10 Mobile and the company has sidelined its mobile platform, but the OS is supported and monthly updates with security fixes are still released. Today, all supported versions of Windows 10 Mobile are receiving a new batch of cumulative updates with the usual fixes.

The April 2019 cumulative update for Windows 10 Mobile version 1709 and 1703 include security fixes for the kernel and the core components, including the Edge browser. As always, users can grab this April 2019 cumulative update from the Settings > Windows Update.

As per support doc, the Fall Creators Update (version 1709) is receiving Build 15254.562 (up from .556) and it would show up as 2019-04 update on supported Windows Phones.

Although Microsoft hasn’t shared what exactly has changed with this update, it appears that security fixes included in this update are for Windows kernel, Microsoft Edge, Windows apps and Windows graphics.

The handsets which are on Windows 10 Mobile Creators Update should advance to Build 15063.1747 and it includes similar changes.

As a reminder, the support for Windows 10 Mobile is set to end in December 2019 and no cumulative updates will be released beyond this period.

With Windows 10 Mobile reaching the end of support, some apps developers have also decided to abandon their apps for Microsoft’s mobile platform. Recently, Microsoft announced that it will pull the Translator app from the Windows 10 Mobile Store and Facebook will discontinue all of its Windows Phone apps except WhatsApp later this year.
