AMD has rolled out a new driver update for Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition on Windows 10 and Windows 7 systems. AMD Radeon 19.6.1 driver is not a big release and it comes with a small number of changes.

AMD Radeon 19.6.1 adds support for Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass for PC and includes fixes for one bug. The update also resolves issues with external game controllers.

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass for PC and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate were launched yesterday at E3. Xbox Game Pass is a monthly subscription service that will cost $5, but Microsoft is currently offering users a month’s subscription for only $1.

AMD Radeon 19.6.1 driver adds support for Xbox Game Pass for PC. As users speculate, this change has more to do with driver optimizations for the games included in the Game Pass, rather than support for the Game Pass itself.

The update also includes a fix for an issue where game controllers may not function on certain AMD devices with Radeon Software.

AMD is aware of various issues in this release that affects a small number of its users.

A bug may not let you stream via Radeon ReLive or upload videos to Facebook. There is another bug that may cause discrete GPU connection issues on ASUS TUF Gaming FX505. The devices may disappear from the device manager even when the system is idle.

The update has another problem that may result in inaccurate fluctuating readings on AMD Radeon VII for Metrics Overlay and Radeon WattMan gauges.

AMD is aware of an issue associated with ACER Swift 3′ AMD Ryzen processor where users may notice system instability installing the update by using the Custom Clean Installation option.

As always, you can download AMD Radeon 19.6.1 driver from AMD app or their website here.

About Xbox Game Pass for PC

A long list of games, including Xbox console exclusives such as Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 are also part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription for PC.

It is also worth noting that the Redmond giant plans curate the library of PC Game Pass library separately. It certainly makes to maintain a separate library for PC, as the initiative is part of the new experience that Microsoft is building for the PC gaming community.
