The US President Donald Trump suspended the ban it imposed on the Chinese tech giant, Huawei. As a result, the Chinese company will be able to resume their businesses with the likes of Google, Qualcomm, Microsoft, and all other American companies. Long story short, it’s likely that Huawei’s upcoming smartphones will run Android, and not the Ark OS or Hongmeng OS.

However, in an interview with a French magazine, Huawei CEO and Founder Ren Zhengfei said that the company hasn’t pulled the plug on the development of the Ark OS or Hongmeng OS. The Founder and CEO also said that the operating system that they’re currently in the process of building will be 60 percent faster than Android. Huawei’s OS will also be able to beat MacOS when it comes to speed.

Interestingly enough, Hongmeng OS sounds exactly like Google’s Fuchsia and Microsoft’s WCOS— one OS to rule them all. According to Ren Zhengfei, Huawei’s indigenously developed OS will be compatible with printed circuit boards, switches, routers, smartphones, and data centers.

The CEO said, “The system has a processing delay of fewer than 5 milliseconds. It will be perfectly adapted to the Internet of Things and can also be applied to autonomous driving.” Ren Zhengfei pointed out: “We built this system in order to be able to connect all objects simultaneously. This is how we move towards a smart society.”
