How to invert touchpad scrolling on Windows 10
« on: July 28, 2019, 03:01:47 AM »
While Microsoft’s Windows users may be used to moving their touchpads in the default scrolling direction, other operating systems have what one may consider reversed styles of scrolling. My Chromebook, for example, had an inverted style of scrolling by default. Left-handed users may also prefer an alternate direction of scrolling, and so on.

Microsoft offers an option for touchpad users to change their scroll direction in Windows 10. Alas, there is no equivalent option for changing the direction of scrolling via mouse wheel but perhaps Microsoft would add one if users in the feedback hub demand it enough.

How to invert touchpad scrolling on Windows 10

1. Open the Windows 10 Settings app

2. Navigate to Devices.

3. Select the Touchpad option. It’ll only appear if you have a Microsoft supported precision trackpad (So most premium PCs and many mid-range PCs would fall into this.)

4. Under the Scroll and Zoom sub-menu, select the drop-down under Scrolling Direction.

5. Click on Down Motion Scrolls Down. Your scrolling direction will now be reversed. To undo this, simply invert the process.
