OK, we're talking about the successor to a device that is not yet on the market and probably won't be for a few weeks.

With the Surface Duo, the first Android device from Redmond, Microsoft will bring a smartphone that is innovative on the one hand, but on the other hand, has already used obsolete hardware for the launch. Reason enough for Ratenzahlung-Online.de to take a look into the future of what a Surface Duo 2 could look like. For this purpose, exclusive channels and a 4K video were created which we want to take a closer look at below.

Surface Duo 2: We'd like to see these improvements

If you believe a current leak, the Surface Duo with a Snapdragon 855 processor will come onto the market. This processor will already be outdated at launch and will not have 5G either. The duo is also more likely to play in the lower middle class when it comes to the camera. A single 11MP sensor is apparently Microsoft's intention to scan documents rather than take photos.

Microsoft apparently experimented with other camera modules during the development phase. However, these were discarded in favor of a thinner design.

In Surface Duo 2 we would like to see at least one dual camera. Vivo, for example, is showing what is possible with the first gimbal camera. With an ever faster camera development, a thinner module would certainly be possible. This approach was also reflected in the renderings of the Ratenzahlung-Online.de finance portal.

OLED status bar in the frame

Another weak point of the Surface Duo is certainly that due to the dual-screen design when closed, you don't get any information about missed calls and the like. In order to obtain this information, the device has to be opened slightly and then displayed using a so-called "peek" function.

An OLED status indicator was therefore integrated into the frame in the renders - a space-saving and, as we find, an extremely elegant way of conveying information to the user.

So let's take a look at the render images of the Surface Duo 2:

If Microsoft brought such or similar improvements to the Surface Duo 2, the Duo 2 could actually become a very good Android smartphone for the business sector. Whether it can prevail among private customers will largely depend on how good the built-in camera will be.
