Use Windows 10X keyboard / emoji panel - that's how it works
« on: August 08, 2020, 04:30:56 PM »
With Windows 10X, Microsoft is planning to introduce a new, modern and lightweight variant of Windows 10 based on Windows Core OS. The new OS is based on UWP and has a completely redesigned look.

There is also a fancier emoji panel and an improved on-screen keyboard. Unfortunately, the new OS has been postponed until further notice and should not appear before the beginning of 2021 at the earliest .

However, Microsoft seems to want to integrate the two new features mentioned in Windows 10 as well. Insiders in the Dev Channel can now activate them with a trick. We show you how to do it.

The recently released Windows 10 Insider Build 20185 contains some hidden functions again. The emoji panel and onscreen keyboard from 10X can already be found in this build. These can already be used with a trick. To do this, proceed as follows:

■ Download and extract the Mach2 program

■ Start in the folder on File -> PowerShell -> PowerShell (administrator)

Type. \ mach2.exe enable 20438551 and then press Enter

Restart your PC.

You should now be able to use the new panel and keyboard. You open the emoji panel in Windows via the Windows key +. (Point). It is still unclear whether Microsoft will roll out these innovations together with Windows 10X in spring 2021 for regular Windows. However, it is already known that individual elements of the new OS will also find their way into classic Windows.
