Can’t have enough of these posts from Microsoft that highlight upcoming OS features! but for some reason, for the Windows 10 Creators Update, the company is only comfortable talking about security.

And that is because we have already seen a few such posts from Redmond detailing the security improvements coming to the platform with Redstone 2.

Anyway, this latest one, posted on the Microsoft Secure Blog, goes into detail with the additions that the company has planned for the Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) module.

Microsoft showcases how Windows Defender ATP can help IT administrators investigate potentially malicious files, benefit from better detection, while keeping tabs on the packets that are flowing through their networks.

On top of that, there are several management tools that have been updated.

The company had actually announced these a few months back, but this new post actually goes into detail on the work that the software titan has done on this front, since then.

Redmond has focused on three areas for the Windows Defender ATP.

First, for this software meant for enterprises, is the ability to better detect in-memory threats and kernel-level attacks. This is particularly helpful, considering the complicated nature of cyberattacks these days.

Secondly, IT administrators can now easily visualize and track infections, attacks and even suspect behavior across machines on their network, via the new Windows Defender ATP portal.

And finally, security engineers now have the ability to take action quicker and isolate machines, kill tasks, ban network files, and retrieve investigation packages. All with the click of a button, thanks to these new additions.

Of course, these new features are already part of the newer Windows Insider preview builds, so if you want to take a look at them, and take them for a test run, you can do so by installing the latest build.

They will soon be rolled out to all users, come April.
