The Cortana taskbar search bar in Windows 10, displays search results from your computer as well as from the web. If you would like it to display search results from your PC only, the here is an easy way to disable or turn off web results in Taskbar search, so that only local results are displayed.

Turn off web results in Windows 10 Taskbar Search

The taskbar search box allows users to access both standard Windows and Web searches, as well as the new Cortana interface. If you do not use it, you can always disable the Cortana Search box. On the other hand, if you wish to turn off web results and display only local results from your computer, follow this tutorial.

Click inside the search bar to open the search results panel. In the left side you will see the Settings ion. Click on it to open the following panel.

Toggle the Search online and include web results button to the Off position.

That’s it! The text inside the search bar will change from Search the web and Windows to Search Windows.

Now if you search for anything using the Windows 10 taskbar search, you will see uncluttered results with the panel displaying results only from your computer.

If you wish, you can also completely disable Web Search in Windows 10 using Group Policy.
