Set Google as default search engine in Edge browser

Microsoft has Edge browser in Windows 10. You can change default search engine from Bing to Google or any other in Microsoft Edge browser. This post will show you how to set Google as default search engine in Edge on Windows 10. Users who prefer Google over Bing can easily change the default settings and set Google as default search in Edge. Here’s how to do it.

Change default search engine in Edge

Launch the Edge browser in Windows 10 and open Google.com in the browser. Now, click open More Actions in Edge and then choose the Settings option displayed at the very bottom.



Scroll down, under Advanced settings you will see View advanced settings button. Click on it.

Now again scroll down till you see the following setting – Search in the address bar with. Click the drop-down box. By default, this option is be set to Bing. Open the drop-down menu and chose Add new option.

You will see a list of all compatible search providers that support OpenGraph, and which you have recently visited.

Set Google as default search in Edge

Select Google search engine and click on Add as default.

Google will be set as your default search engine in Edge browser in Windows 10.

If you find your desired search provider – which may not be Google or Bing – is already listed there, simply click on it to select it, then click Add as default to set it as the default search engine when searching via the Edge address bar. Here in the image above, you can also see DuckDuckGo.com.

So in short, visit your preferred search engine. If it supports OpenSearch, you will see it added as an option. Select it and set it as your default search engine.
