Windows 10 Build 10240 RTM Gets A Hotfix Rollup
« on: July 22, 2015, 11:42:25 PM »
Windows 10 build 10240 is believed by many to be the RTM version of the operating system, meaning Microsoft is now focused on fixing any bugs and issues that is discovered in this version.

Ahead of the big launch on July 29, of course.

Compared to some other previous builds of the operating system, this one is receiving more focus from the software titan — the company has pushed another bug fix for this version, though without any accompanying information on this things that are fixed or patched.

Gabriel Aul, the head of the Windows Insider program calls this a hotfix rollup, which likely means that this update fixes a number of problems that Microsoft might have discovered.

In the last few days, that is.

KB3074674 is the designation of this patch that is being shipped to computers running Windows 10 build 10240, though there is no bulletin page for this release.

At least, at the time of this writing.

Microsoft, obviously, shipped a large pack of improvements to the core Windows 10 apps yesterday, and it is clear that the development team is hard at work on giving final touches to the operating system ahead of its grand debut next week.

Or rather, seven days from now.

What this most likely means is that new devices with Windows 10 preinstalled will have plenty of updates to install, given that all these patches have been released after the RTM milestone.
