If you’re contemplating upgrading your current PC to the new Windows 7 operating system (available now!), there’s a resource which you need to know about: the Windows 7 Upgrade advisor. This free tool will automatically scan your system, checking both programs and devices for compatibility with Windows 7. Within a few minutes, the program will have generated a report for you with detailed results letting you know if your PC meets the minimum Windows 7 requirements and whether or not you’re running any software which has known compatibility issues with the new Windows OS. The program will also help you out by guiding you through what your available Windows 7 upgrade options are depending on your system setup.  This software, a free download available here

, works on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista PCs. It also works on Windows 7, which may seem funny, but it could still help you figure out (after the fact) if your system has any issues you were previously unaware of with regards to the new OS. If you would rather not install software on your PC, you can visit the Windows 7 Compatibility Center instead. This online resource provides compatibility information for 5000 software programs and 10,000 some devices with plans to list more than 30,000 over the coming months. There are different URLs for the Compatibility Center, depending on your region:
