Spartan Set To Be The Browser For All Microsoft Devices
« on: January 13, 2015, 06:25:42 AM »
No big secret that Microsoft is working on a new browser, some details of which are already with us. It is known by its development codename of Spartan, ingeniously enough.

And while the software titan is sure to talk about this new web browser at its upcoming January 21 event, a little more information about where this product fits into the ecosystem are now with us. And boy, does it fit alright.

According to some new intelligence, Spartan is all set to be the new modern browser for Microsoft.

The company will offer it across all devices no matter the form factor — from Windows 10 proper to Windows 10 Mobile and even the Xbox. It will be replacing the current modern version of Internet Explorer that comes with Windows 8.1.

Spartan will support Flash as well, at least according to the report above.

And at least, on some versions of Spartan, depending on form factor. So maybe the Xbox console flavor of the browser miss out on it, but support for Flash is in.

Since development on this web browser is still in early stages, the current version of the Spartan are said to be extremely buggy. It could take a while before it is released for the general public, but Redmond is nevertheless expected to talk about this new technology at the upcoming event later this month.

Official details then.
