Nvidia releases StarCraft II beta driver
« on: March 23, 2010, 08:04:10 PM »

Where is all the vespene gas ?

The beta for the long-coming, and much anticipated Blizzard RTS StarCraft II has been misbehaving with Nvidia video cards, it seems. Well, Nvidia has heard the cries of thousands of zerg, human, and protoss players and has released a driver that should patch up the problem.

This driver is just aimed for StarCraft II beta players it seems -- we imagine the fixes will be incorporated into the next major Forceware driver release. Nvidia says that these 197.25 drivers are otherwise identical to the last driver release, the 197.13 drivers. The SC drivers are only available for Vista or Windows 7 -- good ole XP really is being phased out these days, it seems.

You can download the StarCraft II beta drivers over here (http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_32bit_197.25_beta.html) or here (http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_64bit_197.25_beta.html)(64 bit).

On a sidenote, we wonder if these widespread Nvidia problems with StarCraft II implies that Blizzard HQ runs mostly on ATI video cards.
